Helen Hoekstra

Mrs. Fred (Helen) Hoekstra, 86, of Holland, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at an area care center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 1997. She was a member of Central Avenue Christian Reformed Church and a former member of the Woman's Literary Club. She is survived by her children, Andrew and Kathie Hoekstra of Kalamazoo, Grace and Dale Kramer of Saugatuck, Pete and Diane Hoekstra of Holland; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Piet (Klaaske) Datema of the Netherlands, Mrs. Jenne (Hiltje) Nieboer of Canada, and Mrs. Piet (Jitske) Van Dyk of the Netherlands; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Bart (Hiltje) Hoekstra, Mrs. Pier (Getje) De Haan, Mrs. Gerlof (Klaske) Keulen, Mrs. Jan (Grietje) Hoekstra and Mrs. Wiebrien (Aiske) Wind, all of the Netherlands; nieces and nephews. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Central Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 1 Graves Place, with the Revs. Chad Steenwyk and James Scholten officiating. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery. Visiting will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Notier-Ver Lee-Langeland Funeral Chapel, 315 E. 16th St. Memorials may be made to Holland Christian Schools or Resthaven Care Center.
