Obituary
Harley W. Vollrath, age 80 of Paw Paw, MI., passed away Sunday, January 7th, 2024 in Plainwell. Harley was born December 14th, 1943 in Watervliet, son of the late Harley and Dorothy Vollrath, and lived in the Paw Paw area since 1976. Harley honorable served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the US Navy. He loved fishing, hunting and was a die-hard University of Michigan fan. Harley was a true family man and was known as the "Best Uncle", "Best Friend" and known by many as an honorary grandpa. He loved his winter trips to Florida and was never without his beloved Bassett Hounds. Harley was known for his ability to control a room and for being a gentle giant. Harley was a very proud man and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Surviving is his daughter Sandra Newman; a granddaughter Jordan Newman; a sister Alexis (Dennis) Van Loon, nieces and nephews, Stephanie Blythe, Nathan Van Loon, Kristen Wielenga and Richard Kirby.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Ann in 2017, his parents, and a sister Suzie Krouse.
