JESTER - Hal Mancel Jester, aged 54, beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 15, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Barbara Jester. Hal is survived by his wife and soul mate, HongYun; son, Liang; brothers and sisters, Robert (Sandi) Jester, Rebecca Jester, Pam (Jim) Young, Brenda (Kraig) Spayde, and Douglas (Patty) Jester; and many nieces and nephews who were very special to him. Hal was born a "blue" baby due to a congenital heart defect on July 25, 1955 in Grand Haven. He survived two heart surgeries for his condition and lived bravely, without complaint while dealing with many health issues. Hal was a very patient, kind and gentle man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He proudly worked for Bissell as a customer service representative and was an active member of the Chinese Association of W. Michigan. For over 10 years, he was also host of Saturday Night Blues at WGVU. To celebrate Hal's love of the blues, there will be a Benefit Memorial at Billy's, 1437 Wealthy St., in Eastown, on Sunday, August 1, 2010 (time to be announced). A Memorial Service is also pending.
