Gwendolyn Margaret Noseworthy, age 91, passed away July 1, 2019 in Borgess Hospital. She was born April 27, 1928, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, a daughter of David and Dorothy "Dolly" (Turner) Wedderspoon. Although Gwen's father died when she was just 2 years old, she and her sister were blessed with a loving and caring mother. It was such a pleasure to hear Gwen share stories of her mother, her love for her mother evident in every one. Gwen dedicated her life to Jesus when she was 14 and continued a life full of faith and was a wonderful testimony of Christian love. Gwen always had her face in a book, was a serious student who really loved languages and went on to earn a degree in Theology. Even later in life, she could still quote John 3:16 in Greek. Gwen met Don, her husband for 59 years, while at summer Church camp. She was a supportive wife during Don's time as a Pastor and worked as Supervisor of Medical Records at a Grand Rapids hospital. Even after retirement, she continued working at the hospital part time for 14 additional years. When she decided to slow down, she volunteered at Borgess Hospital for several years delivering flowers and as a sitter in Borgess "No one dies alone" program. Working full time while raising 4 children always kept Gwen on the go from one child's activity to another. Gwen and Don enjoyed traveling and were thankful for multiple opportunities to make trips, internationally and throughout the U.S. Her Faith and her Church community were always a priority in her life. Her morning daily devotion time was a source of strength for her each and every day. Her joy in all of life's simple pleasures will truly be missed by all who knew Gwen. She was preceded in death by Don, her parents and a sister, Dorothy Rudacille. Surviving are four children, Daniel (Joyce) Noseworthy, Paul (Melissa) Noseworthy, Barbara (Jim Cunningham) Noseworthy and Anne Ossanna; and five grandchildren, Billy and Meredith Noseworthy and Joe, Elliott and Vincent Ossanna. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and time of fellowship will be held Friday, July 5 from 5-7 p.m. in the Comstock Tower Community Room, located at 5285 East H Avenue, Kalamazoo, Michigan. In lieu of cards or flowers, the family would request consideration of a donation to Church of God Family Worship Center, 5841 East H Avenue, Kalamazoo, Michigan, 49048. Services are entrusted to Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
