Gregory Nezamis passed in peace on Monday, June 1, 2020. He was 65 years young and surrounded by his wife and daughters when he left the world. Born to Mary Evangelides and James Nezamis, he was the middle child of three sons. Greg lived a full life before passing on his memory to us. He was a man with many careers, including hospitality, customer service manager, primate caretaker for Upjohn, jeweler and airline manager. He had a lifelong love affair with cashews and spinakopita. His true passion in life lied with umpiring baseball and refereeing football. He married his main squeeze, Pamela Nezamis, 43 years ago and had two girls, Tessa and Jenny. He taught them to work hard, stand up for what you believe in and the importance of never leaving clumps of grass on the lawn. Greg took fashion cues from no one. When he wasn't in his umpire gear, his signature look was all his: a t-shirt from the fashion house Fruit of the Loom, his above the knee Khaki shorts and a pair of white New Balance tennis shoes. Always paired with a baseball cap. He was fond of saying the common fatherly phrase "because I said so". Especially when it came to how the lawn was to be mowed. He despised tattoos, know-it-alls, cats, and anyone who challenged him on the baseball or football fields. He took extreme pride in his service in the Civil Air Patrol as a volunteer liaison for air shows, the Blue Angels Flight Team and the Golden Knights Jump Team. He also took pride in this three grandchildren. His intent was to meet their newest grandchild, Emma, at the end of June. But God had other plans to call him home. Greg is proceeded in death by his parents, James and Mary Nezamis. He is survived by his Wife, Pam, daughters Tessa Nezamis, Jenny Craft and son-in-law Chris Craft. Brothers and Sister-in-Laws, William and Florence Nezamis; Peter and Teeshia Nezamis. Many nephews, nieces, and cousins, and finally his grandchildren, Maddison, Christian and Brianna; all of whom he loved dearly. A memorial service will be held in the second week of July. Location and date will be decided at a later time.
