Gordon B. Kinch Battle Creek Gordon B. Kinch, 80, of Battle Creek, died Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Battle Creek Health System. He was born on June 22, 1927 in Battle Creek, the son of Ernest A. and Mona I. (Barber) Kinch. He was a lifelong resident of the area, graduating from Lakeview High School in 1944. Gordon served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He co-owned and operated Dugan's Auto Top Shop from 1950 to 1972, then retired from Barney's Glass Service in 1988. Gordon was married to Anna S. (Geiss) Kinch, who preceded him in death on December 31, 1986. He was a lifelong member of American Legion Post #54. Surviving are children, Barbara A. Kinch-Hatch of Pensacola, FL and Robert A. Kinch of Bradenton, FL; 2 grandchildren, Jessica Peterson and Megan Kinch, also of Florida; and his partner of 11 years, Elaine (Godde) Jewell; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roger, and a stepbrother, Howard (Bill) Williams. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. James Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to charity of one's choice.
