Gertrude Pritchard

Gertrude Arleen (DeMink) Pritchard of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away peacefully at the age of 95, surrounded by family, on November 4, 2025, at Thornapple Manor in Hastings, Michigan. Gert was well known for her hard work and dedication to supporting those around her. She worked at Bergen Brunswig pharmaceutical wholesaler for 25 years and then continued working for the Target Corporation for another 22 years until her retirement at the age of 85. In earlier years, she enjoyed bowling, was well known for her love of watching sports, playing bingo, and spending time at the Casino, especially when it meant gifts for the grandchildren. Gert will always be remembered for her kindness and caring for others. She was so proud of her family and their many achievements and treated each member as if they were her own. We'll always imagine her cheering for her favorite sports team - the Detroit Tigers. We could not have asked for a better mother, grandmother, "Gerney", or Grandma Gert, as she was affectionately known. We will miss her dearly, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Gertrude was preceded in death by husband Roy William Pritchard Jr., son John Pritchard, son Kenneth Pritchard, daughter-in-law Salli Pritchard, son-in-law Timothy Beurmann, and grandson Roy Pritchard. Gertrude is survived by son Thomas Pritchard, daughter Janis Beurmann, daughter-in-law Keri Pritchard, grandchildren Marcie (Mike) O'Brien, Jason (Janelle) Pritchard, Andy (Brittany) Blank, Justine (Brian) Zack, Danielle (Justin) Northrup, and several great-grandchildren she loved dearly. The family would also like to thank the faculty at Thornapple Manor and the Elara Caring Hospice staff and commend them on providing excellent care and allowing Gert to live out her last days in peace and comfort. Gert's wishes for cremation have been honored, and a small family gathering will take place at a later date.
