Gerald Cross

Gerald passed away Monday, September 24, 2019 at Ely Manor in Allegan. He was born December 19, 1938. Gerald had worked as a roughneck on the oil rigs and was a member of the Iron Workers Union. He had lived at River Court AFC Home in Otsego for several years. Gerald was handy with a hammer and in his free time enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting and going to the movies. Surviving are his son, Bruce (Sue) Hersha; special friends and caretakers, Joe McIllwain, Brandy VanOrder and Beverly Kluzak who were like family to Gerald and his guardian, Lori Mills. Friends may gather for a time of visiting starting at 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 30, 2019 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., with Celebrant MaryAnn DeVries officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego. Contributions in memory of Gerald may be made to the Kalamazoo Nature Center. Messages of condolence may be posted at www.WinkelFuneralHome.com.
