George Foster

George Richard "Dick" Foster, born April 8, 1937, passed away on August 25, 2026, surrounded by family.

Dick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Valerie, and his stepson, Charles Bodfish Jr.

He is survived by his children Dave (Debbie), Karen, Rick and Dan (Lisa); and by his stepchildren Cindy (Chris) Danelz and daughter in law Sherry Bodfish, wife of the late Charles Bodfish, Jr. Dick is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. All of whom brought joy and pride to his life.

Dick graduated from Jackson High School in 1956 and went on to earn his degree from Michigan State University in 1963. He built a respected career in business and insurance, owning and operating Hardt Insurance in South Haven, Michigan, where he served his community with integrity and dedication.

Dick was happiest when busy with his hands or enjoying his favorite pastimes. You could often find him walking through local car shows admiring classic restorations, or spending hours tinkering around the house, always finding something new to fix, build, or improve. In his younger years he enjoyed time on the golf course.

Dick will be remembered for his steady presence, his commitment to family, and the warmth he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him.
