Gary Alexander

Alexander, Gary Richard Portage, MI Gary Richard Alexander, 76, of Portage, passed away on December 13, 2022. Gary was born in Floyd County, GA, on October 16, 1946 to Seaborn and Mary (Ledford) Alexander. He attended Schoolcraft schools after moving to Michigan. Gary worked as a Machine Operator for Jarvis Pemco for twenty-five years. On May 17, 1969, he married Nancy Newmeyer. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and driving his old Chevy truck. Most of all, Gary loved spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Nancy Lynn Alexander; son, Gary Richard Alexander Jr., and daughter, Jennifer (Rob) Caro; grandchildren, Robbie Caro and Macey Caro; siblings, Linda (Tim) Vorick, Foy (Mark) Shade, Ben (Lori) Alexander, Rock (Linda) Alexander, Shirley Woods, Mike Alexander, and Terry Alexander; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Seaborn Wright Alexander, and his mother, Mary Joyce Alexander; and siblings, Seaborn "Easy" Alexander, and Claudette Thompson. Visitation will be held Monday, December 19, 2022, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 411 E Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49002, where a memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm.
