Gale Rutgers

Gale V Rutgers, age 83, of Allegan, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 at his home. He was born November 27, 1930 in Salem Township, MI, the son of Herman and Mabel (Green) Rutgers. Gale worked 36 years for Allegan Township as Treasurer and Trustee. He was on the Allegan County Farm Bureau Board for nine years. Gale was a long-time farmer as well as a dedicated civil servant in the Allegan Area. Gale is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth; his children, Carol Rutgers, Ken (Maureen) Rutgers, Diann (David) Mancuso, Pamela Rutgers; his grandchildren, Cory (Kevin) Margul, Katlin (Brian) Heckman, Joe Mancuso; his great-grandchildren, Avery and New Baby Margul; his brothers, Don (Janet) Rutgers and Lyle Rutgers; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Howard Rutgers. Per Gale's request, there will be a private family inurnment at Hudson Corners, Allegan Township. A Remembrance Gathering will be determined at a later date.
