Florence Anna Emma Panting Tekonsha, MI June 13, 1907 - February 26, 2008 Florence Anna Emma Panting, 100, of Tekonsha, passed away, February 26, 2008 at Whispering Meadows Adult Foster Care in Marshall. She was born June 13, 1907 in Cleveland, Ohio to Frank and Emma (Kuchenbecker) Boehlke. She married Arah Panting, March 12, 1927 in Marshall. He preceded her in death, December 28, 1991. Florence moved to Michigan in a covered wagon when she was 6 years old. She sold eggs and cream, worked hard on the farm all her life and she always wore an apron. She attended the Union United Church of Christ in Tekonsha where she was very active in the Women's Fellowship, she was a member of the Pritchard Extension Club. She enjoyed quilting, all types of needlework, growing flowers and vegetables and she still cooked on a wood stove. She was well known for her handmade braided rugs. She is survived by 2 daughters, Margaret VanHoose of Tekonsha, Doris Sebring of Marshall; 4 grandchildren, Debra (Terry) Goheen, William (Tara) VanHoose, Ann (Duane) Risner and Kathy (Ken Kestner) Dadow; 6 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Rachel Gooheen, Chelsie and Cody Ash, Travis, Nathan Dadow; and one great-great-granddaughter, Sonora Barrington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arah; a sister, Clara Pelkey; and brothers, Walter, Herbert, Elmer, Fred Boehlke. Visitation will be Friday, February 29, 2008 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Putnam's of Tekonsha. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Putnam's of Tekonsha with Pastor Barbara Pryor of the Union United Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow at Lyon Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Union United Church of Christ Memorial Fund or Great Lakes Hospice.
