Eugene Michielsen

Eugene "Gene" Michielsen, 76, of Holland, New Era and Florida, died Sunday, September 23, 2007. Gene was born February 13, 1931, to Paul H. and Henrietta Michielsen in Holland. He attended Holland Christian Schools and worked as a barber for 15 years and then worked for Michigan Power Co., and Holland Christian Schools.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lavina Grotenhuis, brother, Harold "Bud" Michielson, brother-in-law, Ron Van Slooten, brother-in-law, Harvey Geerlings, and sister-in-law, Marian Engelsman.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth, his sons; Randy and Cheryl Michielsen of Holland, Rick and Marilyn Michielsen of Holland, Paul and Pam Michielsen of Zeeland; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Ron (Char) Van Slooten In-Laws; Mrs. Harold (Ange) Michielson of Holland, Wally Grotenhuis of Holland, Mrs. Harvey (Angie) Geerlings of Zeeland, Arloa and Ken Koning of Holland, Rose and George Bouma of Holland, Dale Engelsman of Zeeland, Robert and Linda Geerlings of Holland, Ethel and Claus Steenwyk of Hudsonville, Carolyn and Herb Otten of Zeeland, Paul and Jan Geerlings of Holland, Evelyn and Ron Brouwer of Zeeland, Dave and Linda Geerlings of Holland.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at Bethany Christian Reformed Church, 11 E. 32nd St., Holland. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Notier-Ver Lee-Langeland Funeral Chapel, 315 E. 16th St., Holland. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
