Obituary
Eric Robert Doutt, 67, passed away on April 16, 2025, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Born on September 17, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, Eric lived a life marked by dedication to his profession, and a spirited sense of humor that brought joy to those around him.
Eric earned his bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University, laying the foundation for a successful career. He served as a controller for various medical groups in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where his professionalism and commitment were valued by colleagues and peers alike.
Growing up at Higgins Lake in the summers shaped a great portion of his life. He was an avid sailor in his teen years at Higgins Lake Boat Club winning multiple 1st places trophies sailing his red and white sunfish. He also found great joy navigating the waters aboard his Hobie 18. As a youth he also played recreational hockey in St. Clair Shores.
He played clarinet in the Lake Shore High School Band and cherished the camaraderie it brought. He also played in the local band Elysian as one if it's guitarist. Eric also participated in biking marathons at Belle Isle in his teens and enjoyed snowmobiling during Michigan's snowy winters. These pursuits reflected his adventurous spirit and zest for life.
Eric's sense of humor was one of his most endearing qualities. Those who knew him remember his quick wit and ability to bring laughter into any room-a gift that left lasting impressions on friends and family alike.
He is remembered with love by Megan Ellen Behymer (Doutt), Eli Behymer, Alexander Doutt, and Gerald Doutt. Eric was preceded in death by Robert George Doutt and Geraldine Janis Doutt.
