Byars, Eric Michael 12/15/1974 - 8/18/2022 Williston, FL Eric M. Byars 12/15/1974-8/19/2022 Eric (47) passed away unexpectedly at home (Williston, FL) 8/19/2022. Eric was born in Kalamazoo, MI to Robert and Cynthia Byars. He was a happy kid who loved to play sports, ride bikes until the sun went down, hang out with neighborhood kids, and cause good trouble. He grew up working on his grandparent's blueberry farm (and held a longtime paper route with his brother) which lead to a strong work ethic. As an adult, he worked for many years as a land surveyor. Eric loved his family with all his heart and would do anything he could to help them out. He had five children: Julian (Kassie), Noah (Chelsea), Luke (Haley), Dallas, and Jordin Byars. His five grandchildren: Parker, Jasper, Sam, Braxxton, and Elijah stole his heart and brought so much joy to his life. He had a great sense of humor and took great pride in making his kids smile and laugh. He continued to have a good friendships with both of his former wives Melanie and Trice. Eric loved sports, especially Detroit Red Wings hockey and Michigan football. Since he lived in Florida for many years he was also a Gators fan too, except if they played Michigan. He bled Blue and Maize. He took his family to many hockey games to see K-Wings play in Kalamazoo, which was a great time for everyone and created fond memories. Every year he held the "Byars Boys Cup" during the Stanley Cup playoffs with his sons, where they'd hold a tournament on Xbox hockey. He was an avid fisherman and loved packing everything up to take the entire family camping. In the evenings after working long days you could find him shooting hoops or playing football with his kids. He loved cooking for people and would man the grill at family gatherings, cooking up the best food around. He loved finding good deals at the flea markets and would barter to get the best price. He hated working on cars, but always found himself under the hood of one, working to make sure his family and friends had reliable transportation. He was preceded in death by his father- Robert Byars, maternal grandparents-Joseph and Patricia Kovach, and an uncle- Christopher Kovach. He is survived by his children and grandchildren, mother- Cynthia Kazeks (Rick), brother- Joe Byars, sister- Anna-Marie, nephews- Brenton and Charlie, niece- Rylnn, aunts, an uncle, step-dad and friend- Charlie Kazeks, and numerous cousins A celebration of life will be held October 8th, at 4:00pm.
