Elsie Johnson

Elsie Johnson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at the age of 101. She was born in Harvey, IL on October 7, 1920, to the late Joseph and Phoebe (Rietveld) Haines. Elsie was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo and enjoyed cooking and sewing. She married Ralph Johnson on June 18, 1949, and they shared 33 years of marriage before his death in 1982. Surviving Elsie are her daughters, Judy (Mark Loehrke) Johnson and Nancy (Brad) Krumpolz; six grandchildren, Eric, Amanda, Nate, Carly, Johanna, and Perry; thirteen great grandchildren; one sister, Lois Froebel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; son, Jon Johnson; and siblings, Grace, William, Joseph, and MaryAnn. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
