Elsie Ignacek

Ignacek, Elsie Paw Paw Elsie P. Ignacek, 89, of Paw Paw, passed peacefully away at home on Wednesday, April 28, 2021. She was born in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Joseph and Hilma Ballay. Elsie married the love of her life, Ed, on June 11, 1949 in Chicago. In 1965 she and Ed moved their family from Chicago to a farm in Paw Paw. She was a homemaker most of her life. Later she worked at IRDC as a report writer and at White Oaks Retirement Residence until she retired in 1996. She and Ed were charter members of the Paw Paw Elks Lodge, avid bowlers and they loved to travel. Surviving are her children, Alan (Colleen) Ignacek, Deborah (Nathan) Bitely, Edward (Vanessa) Ignacek, Jr., Joanne Randles, Merry Cooper, Wendy Ignacek, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a host of other loving family and friends. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Ed, her parents, one sister, Dorothy Tebbe, one granddaughter, Rachel and one grandson, Edward III. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 3, 2021 beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. Private burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice Care of South West Michigan or to the American Cancer Society.
