Ellen J. Yingling

Yingling, Ellen J. Kalamazoo, MI Ellen Joyce Yingling passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022, in Kalamazoo. She was born August 14, 1936, in Portage, MI a daughter of the late Bert and Ella (Visscher) Nederhoed and had been a lifelong area resident. Ellen devoted her life to being a loving mother and wife. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, was an avid golfer, cross-stitcher, and traveler. Ellen also loved to bake for her family, friends, and church, and she will be remembered for her famous cookies. Ellen will also be remembered for her fun-loving personality. She was always laughing with family and friends, and it was always evident how much love she had for everyone in her life. Above all, Ellen enjoyed the companionship of her husband Richard Yingling. She and Richard were joined at the hip; they did everything together. They were not only husband and wife but were truly best friends. On July 2, 1955, Ellen married Richard A. "Dick" Yingling who preceded her in death on September 26, 2021. Ellen is survived by her children, Lori Yingling of Kalamazoo, and Thomas B. (Michelle) Yingling of Mattawan; granddaughters, Megan Yingling and Morgan Yingling; sister, Nancy Simonds; sister-in-law, Joyce Sleeman; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, November 4, 2022, from 3:30-5:30pm when a memorial service will begin at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, with Rev. Frederick "Fritz" R. Kruithof, officiating. Private inurnment services for Ellen and Dick will be held in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
