Ella Keller

Ella Keller, age 97, of Holland, formerly of Dowagiac, passed away on Sunday May 16, 2010 in Appledorn Living Center in Holland.

Ella was formerly of 56824 California Rd., Pokagon Township.

She is survived by her two sons, Lawrence of Stanwood, MI and John of Ludington, MI; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was born July 19, 1912, daughter of Sophia Horstman and Henry F. Busick in Silver Creek Township. In 1936 she married John R. Keller, prominent farmer and politician who died in 1996. She is preceded in death by a sister, Ina B. Curran and a brother, Glen. She was a 1929 graduate of Dowagiac High School, Cass County Normal 1930 and 1966 graduate of Western Michigan University. She taught rural and city schools for seventeen years and was active in Pokagon farm operation for over 60 years.

There will be no visitation or services.
