Elizabeth Spees

Elizabeth Spees, of Battle Creek, formerly of Babcock and Eckford Village, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at home with her family under the care of Hospice. She was born in 1926 in Albion, Michigan to Leo and Isabell Koch. In 1943 she married Lester Spees who preceded her in death in 2004. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Albion. Elizabeth enjoyed spending her winters in Florida and Arizona. Survivors include: 3 daughters, Linda and Harold Stull of AZ, Sue Michael and Pat and Dean Watts, both of Battle Creek; 1 son, David and Gloria Spees of Marshall; 2 sisters, Isabelle Richards of Homer and Sally Daniels of Albion; 3 brothers, Don Koch of South Carolina and John and Robert Koch, both of Homer; 12 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 10 great- great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her, husband, one son, three brothers and three sisters. Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012, at St. John Catholic Church, 1020 Irwin Ave., Albion, with Father Joe Gray officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 8, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Homer. Memorials are suggested to Life Span Good Samaritan Hospice or St. John Church in Albion.
