Age 95, passed away on May 16, 2020 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Joyce was born August 27, 1924, in Cedar Creek, Michigan, the daughter of John and Effie (Albertson) Lammers. She was a longtime Kalamazoo area resident, enjoying the last nine years of her life at Park Village Pines in Kalamazoo. Joyce was a wonderful homemaker, and rejoined the workforce when her children were teenagers, working for Illinois Envelope/Lawrence Productions, until her retirement in 1986. Joyce was a member of Calvary Bible Church, and prior to that, attended Oakwood Bible Church and Bethel Baptist Church. On May 24, 1952, she was united in marriage to George E. Palmer who preceded her in death on June 28, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Merl, Elwin, Clare, Duane, Wendell and Dale Lammers, and sister, Marjorie Young. Surviving are her children, Steven (Darcy) Palmer of St. Charles, IL, and Ann Webb of Kalamazoo, four grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was also blessed with three great granddaughters, with one on the way, and one great grandson. A quiet woman of great faith, Joyce was loved and will be missed by all. Due to COVID-19, a private funeral will take place on May 20th, followed by a private burial at the Cedar Creek Cemetery.
