Elizabeth McGee

Elizabeth R. "Betsy" McGee age 55 of Mendon, passed away Friday May 8, 2026, at home. Betsy enjoyed being a wife, mom, doing flower gardening and cooking. She loved being the mom of two girls. She was also a fierce protector and lover of animals. We called her the "neighborhood humane society". Therefore, there were always multiple pets in the McGee household. Betsy was born April 2, 1971, in Grand Rapids, the daughter of John and Judith (Hamilton) Moore. She was a graduate of Portage Central High School where she played tennis, was in the marching band, and on the track team. Later she attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College. On July 2, 1999, at Celery Flats in Portage, Betsy was united in marriage to Ron McGee who survives. Together they enjoyed walks, watching movies, and caring for their dogs. Also surviving are two daughters, Raena and Molly McGee; mother, Judith Moore; brother, Steve Moore. She was preceded in death by her father John H. Moore in 1990. A gathering for family and friends to celebrate Bety's life will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at The Historic, 113 East Main St., Centreville, MI.
