Obituary
Elisabeth (Schaap) de Boer, age 95, of Holland, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lammert de Boer in 1978; and her parents, Hendrik-Jan and Emke Schaap.
Elisabeth was born in Grootegast, the Netherlands, and, with her family, immigrated to the United States in 1956.
They owned and operated Hempel’s Pastry for 14 years. Elisabeth was a member of Central Avenue Christian Reformed Church. She will be remembered as a loving Mom and Oma and a proud employee of Holland Hospital. She is survived by her children, Emma and John Van Munster of Zeeland, Klaas and Janet de Boer of Holland, Hendrik and Judy de Boer of Colorado, Evie and Glenn Pomp of Holland, Jacob and Kim de Boer of Holland; grandchildren, Robert (Debbie) Van Munster, Debra (Michael) Van Kampen, Mark Van Munster, Elizabeth (Doug) Wedeven, Christopher de Boer, Scott (Angie) de Boer, Anna (Matt) Wehrmeyer, Laura (Carter) Baer, Derek (Becky) Pomp, Amanda Pomp, Susan (Bob) Engel, Danielle (Jeff ) Myers, Alisha (Eric) Tichenor, Megan (Joe) Mann, Samuel (Jennifer) de Boer, Mitchiel (Candis) de Boer, Jacob (Stephanie) de Boer; 39 great-grandchildren; sister, Geertje Schaap-Hummel in the Netherlands.
Funeral services will be noon Monday, Aug.
27, 2012, at Central Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 259 Central Ave., Holland with the Rev.
James H. Scholten officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visiting will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Langeland- Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St., Holland.
Memorial contributions may be given to World Impact, Hospice of Holland or the American Cancer Society.
