Eileen Verdries

Formerly of Kalamazoo Passed away Tuesday November 19, 2019 at home. Eileen was born June 25, 1930 in Kalamazoo the daughter of George and Margaret (Dennany) Redmond. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw and graduated from St. Augustine School, received her registered nursing degree at Nazareth College and was employed at Kalamazoo Psychiatric Hospital, Borgess Emergency Dept and then retired as Director of Nursing at Verdries Nursing Home. Eileen enjoyed boating, thrift shops, traveling, and making ceramics. On February 14, 1992 in Kalamazoo Eileen was united in marriage to Ype Verdries who preceded her in death on December 5, 1992. Also preceding her in death was a son, Don Hale; six brothers, George, Walter, Tom Edward, Cornelius and Clarence Redmond; sister, Margaret Farrell. Surviving are four children, Larry Hale of Portage, Sharon Hale of Paw Paw, Carleen Jenney of Kalamazoo, Dennis Hale of Paw Paw; three grandchildren, Chris, Stephen, Bradlee; several nieces & nephews. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Sunday November 24, 2019 at Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo where services will be held 11am Monday. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, Paw Paw.
