Edward F. McKee, age 84 of Mattawan, died January 28, 2020, at Bronson Hospital. He was born August 4, 1935, in Paw Paw, the son of Charles and Frances (Webb) McKee. Ed was a 1954 graduate of Paw Paw High School. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. Ed was a valve maker for Eatons until their closing, and retired as a paver operator from Foster Asphalt. He spent his off season working alongside his best friend Jack Curtis repairing snowmobiles. Jack and Ed also spent many trips fishing in Baldwin. On June 9, 1963, Ed married Patricia Terrell. The couple wintered in Florida and loved to visit car shows in the summer. His family includes his wife Patricia McKee of Mattawan; his son Edward Charles (Tricia) McKee of Jenison and their children Hillary and Geoffrey, also of Jenison; his son William Patrick (Staci) of Kalamazoo, and their daughter Ericka (Janelle) of Fort Wayne and son Benjamin of Kalamazoo; his sisters, Marilyn Harvey of Paw Paw and Diane (Norm) Miller of Kalamazoo; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Jim McKee of Paw Paw, Robert McKee of Lawrence, and JoAnn Stearns of Paw Paw. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 11:00 AM, at Wildey Cemetery, at the corner of 42nd Street and CR 734, with Pastor Norman Miller officiating.
