Edith Pontius

Pontius, Edith Kalamazoo Age 86, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021. Edith was born in Kalamazoo, on June 8, 1934, the daughter of Paul and Ruby Fay (Parker) Docsa. On September 5, 1953, she married Maurice Junior Pontius who preceded her in death. Edith is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Rick Cronkite) Pontius and Deb (Jerald) Smith; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Caro; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Besides her husband, Edith was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Dave Pontius; and a grandson, James Smith; a brother, Richard Docsa; a sister, Charlene Dykehouse. The family is planning a graveside service later this spring at West Cooper Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
