Dudley passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at his home in Plainwell. He was born April 21, 1949 to Arvard 'Bud' and Rosalie (Rockwell) Rose. Dudley proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He had worked for Lapham Heating and Cooling before going to work for his brother at Archie Rose Machine Shop for 15 years. Dudley was a skilled woodworker and loved to fish, follow NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon and collect hats, coats and state quarters, having collected 15 complete sets. Dudley was kind hearted and went out of his way to help anyone in need and had a saying or Dudley-ism for everything. He was an Eagle Scout and a life member of the Otsego VFW Post #3030. On December 30, 1987 he married Janet Hampton who survives. Also surviving are his children, Tom (Jan) Rose, Patrick Fredericks, Rebecca (Ron) Perkins, Darcy (Jayson) Ennis, Dawn Rose and Devon Rose; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jack (Nancy Schnidler) Rose, Lynette (David) Cree and Donna (Kirk) Wisnaski along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Jacqueline Fredericks. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial celebration will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, March 7, 2020, at the Otsego VFW Post #3030. Burial of ashes will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later time.
