Douglas Crank, age 61, of Holland, died Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at Spectrum Hospital, Butterworth Campus following a courageous 9-month battle with cancer.

He served 3 years in the U.S. Navy, was in the Navy Band and a member of the Honor Guard for President John F. Kennedy. He was also a member of Holland Elks Lodge and worked as an electrical engineer for several companies, most recently at Sherwin-Williams in Holland.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Mary Crank; his daughter, Sara Woodward and James Griffioen of Detroit; granddaughter, Penelope Griffioen; sister, Suzanne and Will Horn of St. Louis, MO; mother-in-law, Lorraine Duffy of Holland; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Roger Taylor of Flossmoor, IL, Lorraine and Thomas Castle of Colorado Springs, CO, Elizabeth and Jeff Luini of Los Angeles, CA, and Patricia Duffy of Holland; brothers-in-law, Edward and Daniela Duffy of Vienna, Austria, Patrick and Kathy Duffy of Holland, and Michael and Christine Duffy of Oakbrook, IL; many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours are 2-5 Sunday, October 14, at the Notier-Ver Lee-Langeland Funeral Chapel, 315 E 16th St., Holland. A memorial service will be held later.
