Dorothy Ann Moon, age 82, of Naples, Florida, passed away on November 8, 2023. She was born on November 23, 1940, in Greenville, Texas, to the late Augustus Jackson and Emmer (Stephens) Jackson. She leaves behind her loving husband, Gene E. Moon, of 62 years. Dorothy was a loving mother to her daughters, Debra Ann Moon and April Moon Waara (Keith). Dorothy was a loving grandmother to four grandsons: Kyle Anthony Smith, Nathan Moon Willingham, Kevin Moon Ferguson, and Nolan Moon Willingham. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert Jackson and Charles Jackson, and her sisters, Geneva Story, Bobbie Mulholland, Junell Grace, and Lisa Jackson Austin. She also has a host of nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Jackson.

Dorothy received her Bachelors degree from Western Michigan University. She had a passion for education and served as a Physical Education and Health Teacher at Mattawan High, Middle and Elementary Schools in Mattawan, Michigan. She was dedicated to her students and always went above and beyond to help them. Dorothy was known for her personable and helpful nature, making her a beloved figure in the community.

Outside of her career, Dorothy had a variety of interests and hobbies. She was a Girl Scout leader and basketball coach. She was also an avid golfer and played on many leagues. Dorothy was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority and the LINKS organization. She was also known for being an excellent cook and delighted in preparing delicious meals and tasty treats for her family and friends. She was an incredible host who loved a good party!

A Celebration of Life service for Dorothy will be held at a later date. The Fuller Funeral Home in Naples, Florida, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Dorothy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her fun, kind and caring nature, along with her many accomplishments, have left a lasting impact on the people she touched. May her memory be cherished forever.
