Donna Winterhalter

Donna M. Winterhalter, age 88 of Kalamazoo, died on February 1, 2026, at Rose Arbor Hospice Home. She was born on February 27, 1937, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Alfred and Leila (Hawkins) Ballinger. Donna was a 1955 graduate of Comstock High School. For 20 years, she worked in housekeeping at Bronson Methodist Hospital. After her retirement, she was a caregiver at First Care Day Care in Kalamazoo. On November 29, 1986, she married Charles "Chuck" Winterhalter. Donna was a member of Kalamazoo Free Methodist Church for many years. She was an avid sports fan and was always found cheering for her Michigan Wolverines. Donna loved to go up north in Michigan and especially loved spending time with her sister on Drummond Island. She is survived by her son, Thomas (Joy) Fill; her grandchildren: Kyle Fill, Kelly (Paige) Fill, Adam (Mandey) Anderer, and Daniel (Jaci) Anderer; her great-grandchildren: Kaleb, Charlotte, Alex, Juniper, Lucy, Lilah and Luke; her sister Wanda Dunifin and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Winterhalter, her sister Mildred Berry and her brothers Max, Russ and Jim Ballinger. Friends may visit with Donna's family on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 1:00-3:00 PM, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 3926 S. 9th Street, Kalamazoo.
