Passed away Friday, January 17, 2020 at his home. Don was born April 11, 1944 in Kalamazoo the son of the late Raymond and Mildred (Switzer) Pike and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo/Portage area. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and then served in the U.S. National Guard. He was employed for several years with Ihling Bros. and then was the owner of Don's Bookbinding. He later worked for Wings Stadium for several years. On August 28, 1971 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" (Rinehart) who survives. Also surviving are his children, Mark Bredernitz, Donald Pike Jr., Linda (Scott) Moore, Sarah (Curt) Brenner, Gwen Pike; 8 grandchildren, Racheal O'Hare, Lauryn Barnett, Allie Leal, Hailie Pike, Heath and Jared Brenner, Maggie and Harry Moore; 1 great-grandchild, Pilot James Hillyard; several brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, January 23 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 622 S. Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Interment will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Friends may meet the family from 12:00-1:00pm Thursday prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the Parkinson's Foundation.
