Donald Irwin

Age 87, passed away on Monday evening, August 10, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Don was born in Battle Creek, on June 8, 1933, the son of Ivory John and Mabel Georgina (Culbert) Irwin. On August 16, 1952, he married JoAnn Nulf, who survives him. Don and JoAnn enjoyed travelling together to other parts of the country. He was an outdoorsman and spent time fishing and camping. Their yard also reflected his love of the outdoors. Don worked with wood and made everything from birdhouses to furniture. He also enjoyed baseball and was a fan of the Detroit Tigers. Besides his wife, he is survived by a grand daughter, Christina (Zach) Gallan of Chicago; sister, Elaine Rothwell of Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Deborah Kay Irwin; and a son, Richard Gary Irwin. No service is being planned at this time. He will be laid to rest with his daughter and son at Battle Creek Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, c/o the funeral home.
