Passed away surrounded by family on May 10, 2026, at the age of 78, of complications from cancer.

Born on September 13, 1947, in Parchment, Michigan, Diane built a life centered on love, faith, and family. She shared 57 devoted years of marriage with her beloved husband, Gerald Leroy Reau, whom she married on March 16, 1963. Their life together was a lasting example of commitment, partnership, and love. She missed Gerald deeply after his passing, and it brings comfort to know they are together again.

Diane will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her children, Kathy Cargo (Dan), Karen Reau (Kitti Sae-Ung), and Steve Reau (Pam Nesbitt-Reau); her grandchildren, David Cargo (Ally), Kristen Winner (Adam), Ayla Isabel Reau, Nawalert Ian Reau, and Asunee Kira Reau (Josh Brune); and her great-grandchildren, Callie, Lily, Josie and Caleb. She is also survived by her sisters, Alvera Lewis (John Banner) and Debbie Bartlett, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Egeler.

Diane found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved gardening, working on puzzles and word searches, and spending time with her dog, Shorty. She was a woman of faith and a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Kalamazoo. Her commitment to family, loving heart, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She will be cremated and interred with her husband, Gerald, at Trinity Lutheran Church.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Diane's life will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 504 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Visitation will take place one hour prior the service at the church, beginning at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, the The Parkinson's Foundation, or Kalamazoo Animal Rescue. Friends and family may leave a condolence message online at www.langelands.com.
