Dennis Arndt

Dennis W. Arndt Battle Creek, Sr., 64, died February 2, 2012 at home. He was born February 12, 1947, the son of Frederick W. and Ella L. (Schulz) Arndt in Benton Harbor. Dennis received an Associate Degree of Applied Science at Lake Michigan Community College and worked as a millwright at Hayes Albion and then at Denso Manufacturing. He retired in 2007. Dennis also served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He is survived by his wife, Connie Arndt of Battle Creek; daughter, Michelle L. Arndt of Battle Creek; sons, Dennis W. (Misti) Arndt, Jr., Richard W. Arndt, all of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Zachary Arndt, Abigail Arndt and brother, Roger Arndt of Stevensville. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick in 1981, his mother, Ella in 2007 and sister, Judy Davis in 1988. Dennis was a family man and the family loves hockey. He was very active with the Kalamazoo Optimist Hockey Association. He also was a dog lover. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2012 and from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Shaw Funeral Home where services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial donations may go to Kalamazoo Optimist Hockey Association. The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home.
