Life Story / Obituary

Denise C. Hill of Richland, on the morning of May 19, 2019 passed away suddenly in the company of her husband, Dennis D Hill and eldest son, Cameron V. Hill. Surviving her as well are her son Andrew V. Hill and daughter, Krista C. Hill; her siblings: Mark (Brenda) Cameron, Jim (Rosanne) Cameron, Dianne (Kesty) Barcas, Larry Cameron, Paul (Pat) Cameron, Lisa (Scott) Cronce, Shawn (Pam) Cameron and numerous nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents Lawrence J. Cameron and Irene Cameron (Barzak). Born in Dearborn, Michigan Denise graduated from Edsel Ford High School in 1979 as a prolific athlete. As time progressed and she started building her family, much of her time was spent reaching out to relatives and acquaintances, growing and galvanizing connections and fostering a sense of community between people who ranged from blood relatives to complete strangers. Denise was a living chronology of dates of birthdays, family trees, history and connections upon which many who knew her relied every day. Despite so much of her effort an passion belonging to her family, nuclear and extended, one never lost a sense of the athlete and socialite in her. Denise enjoyed golf regularly and other social games of skill like darts and cards. If not for her exceptional ability in these endeavors it would be hard to determine if she preferred the interactions involved more than the activities.

Denise gave a part of her life to everyone she met, regardless of their past or seemingly future paths. She was a magnanimous woman of the highest order. Neither ostentatious nor simple; proud but not prideful, she radiated positivity and energized all who came into contact with her. Now, we have the opportunity to be shown that even though she has left this Earth, each person who knew her represents and carries with them a part of her. When we come together we see her whole life laid before us. The family would like to extend the opportunity to all who knew her to attend informal services at McCowen and Secord Life Story Family Funeral Home on Lover's Lane and Milham Road in Portage. Your attendance is not compulsory and nobody will be judged for not attending as we all grieve differently. Donations have been offered and a fund will be available soon, however no donations are necessary.
