Debra Ingle

Debra Denise Ingle died Tuesday morning, December 21, 2021, in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born June 17, 1953, in Piqua, OH the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Holtvogt) Drew. Debra graduated in 1971 from Troy High School in Troy, OH alongside her high school sweetheart, Mike. On July 27, 1973, Debra married Mike (Michael S.) Ingle who preceded her in death on August 22, 1990. Debra started her career with a B.S. in Elementary Education and Special Education from Wright State University in Dayton, OH. After spending many years in the education sector, she transitioned to helping students in the schools and earned her Master's in Social Work from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. Her career included working with foster care children and families, hospice care, and working with the community. She enjoyed being a professor at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, MI where she taught social work, sociology, and developmental psychology. Even in her down time, she enjoyed reviewing college textbooks and clinical papers. Debra was a longtime member of Psychological Consultants of Michigan in Battle Creek where she practiced mental health counseling, grief and loss counseling, as well as marriage and family relationship counseling. Debra enjoyed taking her son on cross-country road trips to see historic and natural wonders. Her greatest hobby was the ability to sew all of her son's Halloween costumes every year, creating one-of-a-kind costumes from scratch. Debra was also preceded in death by her parents. Debra is survived by her son, Alexander Ingle, and brother, Christopher Drew. Private graveside services will be held in Leroy Congregational Cemetery.
