Debra (Buist) Cohen

COHEN Debra Joy (Buist) Cohen, age 47 of Allendale, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 4, 2009. Deb was fun loving and had a zest for life. She was a very self-less person who always put others first. Her goal was to put a smile on everyone's face. She worked at the Grandville Burger King as the assistant manager for the past 15 years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Marlene Schoo-Buist. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 22 years, David Cohen; father and step mother, Dale Sr. and Carol Buist; brothers, Dale Buist Jr. and Colleen McMurray-Buist, Daniel and Karen Buist, Doug and Shawn Buist; brother-in-law, Richard Cohen; nieces and nephews, Justin and Theresa (Ewing) Buist, Christopher Buist, Patrick Buist, Alexandria Buist, Carrington Buist, Nick and Tara Visser, Katie Cohen; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (new location) 6651 Scott St. Allendale, with Rev. Jim Mannes officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and Wednesday 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
