HOAGLIN - David Allen Hoaglin 55, Cindy Marie Hoaglin 51 and Chelsea Nicole Hoaglin 15, all of Bangor, died tragically, Thursday, October 1, 2009 from a fire in their home. David was born on July 4, 1954 in Grant, Michigan the son of Clarence and Barbara Ryan Hoaglin. He had worked as a welder for 36 years with CSX Railroad. He was a member of the Sportsman Club of Hartford and was an active member of the American Legion Post in Bangor. David enjoyed playing pool with a league at the Bangor Tavern. He also enjoyed riding his Harley and participating in the Ride for Sights Charity. He was married on April 9, 1993 at Shiloh Community Church to Cindy Marie Saladin-Helms. Cindy Marie Saladin-Hoaglin was born on March 23, 1958 in Greenville, the daughter of Peter R. and Charlene Insley Saladin. She graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1976 and has worked at the Salvation Army in Grand Rapids for 23 years. Cindy was also a member of the Sportsman Club of Hartford, was active in the American Legion in Bangor and played pool on a league at the Bangor Tavern. She collected horses and teapots and like David was always willing to lend a helping hand to any cause or charity. Chelsea Nicole Hoaglin was born on January 29, 1994 in Paw Paw, the daughter of David and Cindy Saladin Hoaglin. Chelsea was currently a sophomore at Bangor High School. She was an active member of the Bangor High School Band where she played the flute. She also served on the school newspaper. Chelsea enjoyed spending time and socializing with her friends. She loved to go shopping and spending time with her family. She was just a real friendly kid. David, Cindy and Chelsea will be forever loved and never forgotten. They are survived by their respective parents and grandparents, Barbara Hoaglin of Stanton, Peter and Charlene Saladin of Belding, and Vivian Ryan of Stanwood. Their children and Chelsea's brother and sisters, Tennille and Pete Sassano of Lakeview, Elizabeth Helms of Ionia, Tiffany Hoaglin of Stanton, Melissa Helms of Ionia, Jestin and Christina Cease of Bangor; their grandchildren, Tara, Tobbie, Austin, Lauren, Raigan, Lindsey, Thalia, Taylor and Lainey. Also surviving are David's sisters and Cindy's brothers and sisters, Gayle Walker of Stanton, Christine and David Glasgow of Sturgis, Kimberly Hoaglin of Martinsville, Virginia, Pamela Saladin-Walenga and Robert Walenga of Lowell, Patricia Saladin of Coral, Catherine Stevens of Coral, Connie Saladin of Belding, Peter and Julie Saladin of Stanton, Christina and David Heaton of Belding, Patrick Saladin of Modesto, California and Carrie and Andy Feehan of Sandusky, Michigan; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Clarence Hoaglin preceded David, Cindy and Chelsea. A Memorial Service will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Bangor High School Auditorium in Bangor, with the Salvation Army officiating. No visitation will take place in Bangor. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Shiloh Community Church, 8197 Heth St., Orleans, MI 48865, with Pastor Kendall Harger officiating. Interment will follow in Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, 203 Pleasant St., Belding, MI 48809.
