David Gerrish

David Clare Gerrish, 77, of Portage passed away March 26, 2025. He was born August 22, 1947, in Kalamazoo to the late Leslie Edward Jr. and Gertrude (Walker) Gerrish.

Dave was a graduate of Loy Norrix High School and later earned an associate's degree from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. He worked for Graphic Packaging for many years and for Wings Event Center, helping with various aspects of many events and concerts.

Dave was very athletic and enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, and softball. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and the University of Michigan sports teams. Dave also enjoyed playing cards and horseshoes. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and friends and always made sure to stay connected with those around him.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gerry (Jim) Tank; and brother, Leslie Gerrish III.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Gerrish; sisters, Linda (Denny) Shearer and Lorraine (Michael) Scott; sister-in-law, Joann Gerrish; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held Friday, April 11, 2025, from 1:00-3:00pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49009.
