David Blair

David Harry Blair, 82, passed away on January 28, 2026. He was born on May 28, 1943, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the son of Orla and Marguerite (Carlson) Blair.

Dave was the son of missionaries who moved to Africa when he was just four years old. He was very proud of his heritage and enjoyed his years spent growing up in Africa, always eager to share this experience with anyone he met.

Dave was known for his strong work ethic. He worked as a printer at Superior Imaging and spent many years as a greeter at the Meijer on Gull Road. He loved his job at Meijer and made a true impact on others who often recognized him around town and brought him gifts during the holidays. He was also involved in several capacities at Northeastern Baptist Church, where he and his wife attended.

Dave had a genuine love for the ocean and enjoyed time spent with his family camping at Yankee Springs.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie Blair; his children, Michael Blair, Brian Blair, Chandos Blair, and Ruth Melbow; his grandchildren, Sarah (Joe) Bartkowiak, Ryan (Brooklyn) Melbow, and Christopher Melbow; his great-grandchildren, Sylas and Finlay; and his sisters, Bonnalyn (Richard) Martinson, Janice (Steve) Geroli, and Charlene (Dann) Spader.

Memorial services will be held?at a later date at Northeastern Baptist Church, 6536 E G Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49048.
