Dana Marshall

Marshall, Dana 5/22/1943 - 9/10/2022 Vicksburg Dana Louise Marshall (Begg) of Vicksburg, passed away on Saturday, September 10th, 2022 at the age of 79. Dana was born on May 22, 1943 in Battle Creek, MI and grew up in Kalamazoo, MI. She was the daughter of George and Marian Begg (VanSyckle). Dana graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1960. A few years later, she married Richard Freeman Marshall in 1968. She and Richard moved to Vicksburg in 1978 to raise their children. Dana was employed by Vicksburg Community Schools as a custodian and recess supervisor for nearly 30 years before she retired. Dana enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed her lunch and garage sale outings with her closest friends. Dana loved to read, do puzzles, and especially enjoyed watching the tv show "How I Met Your Mother"; Neil Patrick Harris was one of Dana's favorite actors. She had even received an autographed copy of one of the scripts and a picture as a gift. Dana is survived by her children Kati (Tim) Mitchell, Heather (Adam Gimbel) Marshall, Stephanie (Jason) Rahn, Andy (Jessica) Marshall, Ben (Misty Reid) Marshall, and Dan Marshall; nine grandchildren, Abby, Zach, Lark, Killian, Kendall, Sammy, Josh, Calvin, and Kellianne; her sister, Nancy Begg Daning and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her cat, Moose. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard; and older brother, Gary Begg. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 23rd, 2022 at 2:30pm at Bedford Township Cemetery; those who wish to attend are invited to join the family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations to be made to Generous Hands of Vicksburg, Michigan.
