Colleen Pauley

Pauley, Colleen Joyce the daughter of Earl and Joyce (Smith) Nutter, was born on May 21, 1958, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and attended KVCC college for a short time. Colleen lived in Kalamazoo for many years. On December 7, 2004, Colleen was united in marriage to Timothy Pauley of Denison, Iowa. Joining this union would be their children Travis, Collin, Samantha, and Rakailla. She would spend the next 18 years with the love of her life, Tim, in Denison. Colleen worked for American Home Shield for 16 years before retiring in December of 2020. When Colleen was young, she twirled baton as a member of the Liberty Bell's Baton Group and modeled. She loved dancing and dance roller skating. Also, as a young girl, Colleen enjoyed a good game of tag football, playing baseball, and climbing trees. No one was a stranger to Colleen, she would just say "it's just someone I haven't met yet." Colleen enjoyed many hobbies like cross stitch, knitting, hand quilting, aroma therapy, and she was also a Reiki Master. She took after her mother when it came to making handmade costumes. She made her children's Halloween costumes many a times. Colleen was known as a great mother, friend, and confidant. She would be the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was just an all around kind, caring, and patient person. Colleen showed strength and courage to the very end. Colleen passed away at her home surrounded by the ones she cherished most on Saturday, September 24, 2022 attaining the age of 64 years, 4 months, and 3 days. She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Joyce, grandparents, her half-brothers Earl Jr. and Mark Nutter, her uncle Ken and his wife Yvonne. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 18 years Tim Pauley of Denison, Iowa, her children Travis and Collin Payne of Northville, Michigan; Samantha (Anthony) Noah of Pisgah, Iowa; and Rakailla Pauley of Denison, Iowa; siblings Holly (Vernon) Flournoy of Bradenton, Florida; Jeannie Kasiorek of Grand Rapids, Michigan; brother-in-law Bill Pauley of NC, sisters-in-law Kathy (Steve) Oropeza of TX and Elizabeth Kerr of MN; many other family and friends.
