Colleen Anspach

Colleen L. Anspach, age 87 of Kalamazoo, passed away July 10, 2019, at Rose Arbor Hospice. She was born July 2, 1932, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Luther and Frances (James) Anspach. Colleen attended Kalamazoo Public School, and took classes in art at KVCC and WMU. She worked for the Kalamazoo State Hospital, Hendrick Memorial Hospital in Abilene, Texas, and for several nursing homes. Colleen had a passion for art and loved to paint and do oil and ink drawings. She was interested in her family history and studied her full genealogy. Her family includes her children: Larrie (Jackie) Austin and Linda White; her 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; her sisters: Phyllis Chase, and Gladene Pattison; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son-in-laws Tom Bennett and Jim White and her sister Delores Lester. Visitation will be held from 3 PM to 6 PM on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Services will be held at 12 PM, Noon on Monday, July 22, 2019 at the funeral home, with her grandson Pastor Bill VandeGiessen officiating. Graveside services will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be directed to Hospice of Southwest Michigan or Park Place Assisted Living.
