Claudette Kennedy

Kennedy, Claudette "Jeanne" Kalamazoo Claudette "Jeanne" Kennedy, 88, passed away Saturday morning, December 12, 2020. Jeanne was born September 9, 1932, in Flora, IL, to Marion and Elizabeth (Kuhn) Swaim. She graduated from Kirkwood (Missouri) High School in 1950. She attended college at Purdue University, where she met Richard Kennedy. They were united in marriage on June 7, 1952; he preceded her in death on September 15, 1992. Jeanne was a homemaker before becoming a secretary for the food service department at The Upjohn Company. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed traveling, attending Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra concerts and local theatre productions, cooking, college roommate reunions at Purdue University, and doting on her cat, Dozie. Jeanne is survived by her children, Stuart (Pam) Kennedy, Kristin (David) Golland, 4 grandchildren, Kim (Joe) Cugnetti, Randy Kennedy, Noah (Leah) Golland, Kalyn Golland; 5 great-grandchildren, Nathan, Liam, Chloe, Carter, and Carson; her sister, Marion (Len) Gray; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. Cremation has taken place and private interment will be in Harrison Cemetery in Schoolcraft.
