Charles L. Williams, Sr., age 82, died Monday, December 2, 2019 at his residence in Texas Township. He was born June 15, 1937 in Three Rivers, Michigan, the son of Everett and Evelyn (Friend) Williams and was a longtime Kalamazoo area resident. Charles worked very hard throughout his life supporting his family. He was a machine operator at Airway Lanes for many years; worked as a welder, was basically a jack of all trades repairing everything. "If Charles can't fix it then it can not be fixed".

On January 9, 1961, he was united in marriage to Peggy Jean (Lowe) Williams, who survives. Also surviving are their children: Tina (Randy) Scott, Diane (Jack) Dempsey, Randy (Wendy) Williams and Jeff (Cindy) Williams; daughter-in-law Dawn Williams; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Everett (Mary) Williams, Ellen Lumbard, Betty Mendham, Earl Williams, Raymond (Margaret) Williams and Mike (Pam) Williams; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his son Charles L. Williams, Jr.; by his parents and by siblings: Robert Williams, Steve Williams and Barbara Oberlander.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 6th from 10:00 to 11:00am at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th Street. The funeral service will begin at 11:00am Friday, December 6th at the Langeland Westside Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South, followed by a reception at West Point Hills Community Center in Mattawan.
