Charles "Doug" Helsel

Charles Douglas Helsel "Doug", aged 75, passed away July 24, 2007. Born October 28, 1931 to Wallace and Mattie Helsel. His brother, Robert, also preceded him in death. Doug, a loving husband and father, is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joanne and children, Michael and Mary Lynn, Patrick and Kay, Steve and Tammy, Mark and Carol, Todd, Ryan and Angie; seven grandchildren; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Charles served in the US Army and was a Vice President at Union Bank for 30 years. He was an avid bowler, sportsman and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Doug's passion was doing charcoal drawings of wildlife and was a member of the Grand Valley Artist Association. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at the Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave. NE. Visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home.
