Charles Christianson

Age 88, died at home on, July 11, 2023. Chuck was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin on November 14, 1934, to Russel and Thelma (Hurlbut) Christianson. On August 3, 1957, he married Janet Ruth Holmes who preceded him in death in 2020. He graduated with a BS in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in 1958. He worked in the Chemical Division of The Upjohn Company for 34 years. He was active in his Church, Boy Scouts, Ski Patrol, Habitat for Humanity, Southwest Michigan Gun Club and West Michigan Woodturners. Chuck is survived by his daughters, Laura (Richard) Bennett of Shalimar, FL and Carol Christianson of Kalamazoo; son, Karl (Gina) Christianson of York, PA; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers, Paul (Sandy) Christianson, and Roger (Leslie) Christianson; brother-in-law, Phillip Holmes; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Besides his wife, Chuck was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1747 W. Milham Ave. Portage. Friends may greet the family at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. Chuck will be laid to rest with Jan at Grand Prairie Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Kalamazoo, Ministry with Community, or Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, in c/o the funeral home.
