In Loving Memory Carolyn S. Tungate, 73, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving extended family during her final moments.

Born on March 15, 1951, Carol was a powerhouse of a woman who made a positive impact on the lives of everyone she met. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love left an indelible mark on our hearts.

Cherished MemoriesAlong with her husband (Donald) of almost 55 years, Carol always wanted to be a mother to sons. She was graced with five of them. Her husband and boys were her light and her life. She was known for her compassion and care for others along with her unrelenting spirit and wit.

She was an incredible cook, known for her delicious homemade meals. Family gatherings were filled with laughter, warmth, and the aroma of her signature dishes. Her recipes will forever be cherished and passed down through generations.

She also loved the water. Summer days on Lake Michigan and trips to Florida to be near the ocean were some of her favorite things to do with her family.

Legacy of LoveCarol is preceded in death by her parents Allen and Betty and oldest son Matthew. She is survived by her husband Donald, and her four surviving sons, Troy (Melissa), Craig (Kristen), Erik, and Bret (April); her ten grandchildren Gavyn, Keagan, Logan, Jack, Landon, Vivian, Rylie, Jake, Grant, and Emery and great grandchild Kaydin; and her sister Laurie (Fred), brother Larry, and niece Lindsey. Her legacy lives on through the love she shared, the memories she created, and the incredible impact she had on our lives.

Celebration of LifeA private memorial service will be held this summer. As a result of Carol's commitment to important causes, her donation of her organs has benefited as many as three recipients who now have been given new life. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made "in memory of Carolyn S. Tungate" to the Gift of Life at www.giftoflifemichigan.org
