Age 85, passed away at her home on September 10, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on October 21, 1938, the daughter of the late Wesley and Lila (Surine) Burton. Carloyn was kind, loving and generous. Her warm smile was welcoming, and she made friends wherever she went. On December 31, 1955, she married the love of her life Frank Gammon Jr., who preceded her in passing in 2022. Together they raised four children and made a home where all were made to feel welcome. Carolyn worked hard as a secretary for many years at Shaffer's Bakery (now Aunt Millies) and Buryl Hill Inc. She loved sunsets and warm weather, which drew her to Florida where she lived for many years. While there, she managed the Oceanic Hotel where she met people from all over the world. She also enjoyed puzzles, board games and was a loyal NASCAR fan. Above all Carolyn loved her family and was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren. She leaves them with the legacy of a life well lived and she will be missed. She is survived by four children, Sherry Foy, Cynthia (Arlis) Fleshman, Sheila (Dan Smith) Blanchard, Janet (Carey) Miller; grandchildren, Bob (Bryan) Fleshman, Michael Foy, Shane (Krista) Courtney, Joseph (Sheree) Foy IV, Christopher (Kaylee) Miller; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; an "adopted" son, Frank Cooper; sisters, Paulette Leonard, Linda Ayers; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
