Bryan Jessup

Bryan Robert Jessup, 75, of North Hutchinson Island, FL, died July 20, 2026, following a brief hospitalization. He was born on Dec. 11, 1950, in Dowagiac, to Robert and Norma (Glass) Jessup, who preceded him in death.

The Dowagiac Union High School graduate earned a bachelor's degree from Hillsdale College in 1973. and a master's in management from Nazareth College, Kalamazoo, in 1989.

He worked in banking, briefly joined the Dowagiac family business, Jessco, and later was a production control coordinator at General Motors, Three Rivers. He spent the final two decades of his professional life as a software consultant.

Bryan and Kathleen (Kneller) Jessup were married on Dec. 30, 1972, in Dowagiac, and raised their 3 children at Lake Templene, Sturgis. Bryan served terms on the Centreville Board of Education, including as board president.

In 2017, the couple split time between Michigan and Florida before settling permanently on North Hutchinson Island.

Bryan belonged to St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Fort Pierce, FL, where he volunteered as a weekly offering accountant and the couple were Eucharistic Ministers. He had a passion for travel, visiting much of Europe, Egypt, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and all 50 states.

Bryan is survived by his wife Kathy; children: David (Whitney) Jessup, Mason; Matthew (fiancée Kristy Aho) Jessup, Kettle River, MN; and Meredith Jessup, Vero Beach, FL; as well as grandchildren Brysen Jessup, Portia Jessup Cook, and Jack and Wrenley Jessup. He also leaves a brother, Charles Jessup, of The Villages, FL and was preceded in death by sisters: Carolyn Jessup and Jody Corey, Dowagiac.

Burial has taken place. Mass intentions may be directed to St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Fort Pierce, FL.
